Jamf Parent - "You can no longer manage your child's device."

Issue Description

The "you can no longer manage your child's device" message appears in the Jamf Parent app preventing the parent from managing their child's device

This is likely happening because:

1. There's a known issue (PI101268), but it seems related to a race condition and the API tokens

2. (Expected) The "Remove Jamf Parent management capabilities" management command was sent to the device

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Open the Jamf Parent app

  2. Select the Settings icon in the upper right

  3. Select 'Remove' to the right of the child's device

  4. Add the child device back into Jamf Parent by selecting the 'Get Started' button

  5. On the child's device, open Self Service

  6. Select the Jamf Parent icon in the upper right to display the QR Code

    Note: If this is not displayed check that Jamf Parent is enabled under Settings in Jamf Pro and that the student device is in the group listed under the Settings in Jamf Pro.

  7. On the parent device, scan the QR Code
