Description
If your volume purchasing token is in use in more than one place (another MDM, Apple Configurator 2, etc.) a big red warning will show in Jamf Now with the message "Your Volume Purchasing connection has been interrupted. Reclaim management to re-enable."
Reclaiming Management of the Volume Purchasing Token in Jamf Now
For Jamf Now to be able to use the Volume Purchasing token we need to reclaim management of the token and remove it from use in other sources.
Check to see if an Apple Account is logged into Apple Configurator 2 on any computers that have used Apple Configurator 2.
Launch Apple Configurator 2 on the Mac.
Click Account in the menu bar.
If logged in with an Apple Account, sign out and skip to step 3. If there is no Apple Account signed in, continue with step 2.
If you trialed or previously used Jamf Pro, Jamf School or a different MDM log in and remove the token.
Note - If your organization uses multiple MDMs, see the alternative below.
Click Reclaim management in the warning in Jamf Now or simply renew VPP token in Jamf Now.
Managing Volume Purchasing in Multiple MDMs
If multiple MDMs are used by an organization, each MDM should have a unique Volume Purchasing token. To generate a Volume Purchasing token just for Jamf Now:
Assign app licenses to the new token in Apple Business Manager.
In Jamf Now, click Volume Purchasing and click Disconnect.
Check the box for I understand this action cannot be undone.
Follow the steps in Setting Up Volume Purchasing to upload the new token to Jamf Now.
Re-assign apps to blueprints/devices as needed.
