Syncing Jamf Pro Activation Codes for MSPs

Description

The activation code in Jamf Pro must be updated every time a new one is generated for an instance (note - the new code will not show until the start of your subscription purchase date). Historically this has been a manual process; however, starting with the release of Jamf Pro 11.11, it is now possible for MSPs to use a workflow in Jamf Account to sync over a new activation code to selected Jamf Pro instances in Jamf Account.

Updating Your Jamf Pro Activation Code

Follow the steps below in Jamf Account to sync the new activation code to selected Jamf Pro instances that you manage.

  1. In Jamf Account, go to Solutions and click View Details for Jamf Pro.

  2. Select the Licenses tab.

  3. Click on the sync button to the right of the copy button at the end of the activation code.

    This photo shows you where you are able to locate the Sync button.

  4. On the Sync Activation Code pop-up, complete the following:

    1. Use the dropdown box to select the desired Jamf Pro instances to sync the code to.

    2. Check the box to confirm you want to sync the code to the selected instances listed.

    3. Click Sync. ​

  5. To confirm the code updated in Jamf Pro, you can log into one of the Jamf Pro instances and look under Settings > System > Activation Code.
