Description
This article provides the steps for adding iOS/tvOS devices to Apple School Manager or Apple Business using Apple Configurator 2 to be enrolled in Jamf Pro using Automated Device Enrollment.

Requirements:
iOS and tvOS devices need to be iOS 11+
Apple School/Business Manager account set up
Apple Configurator 2 for macOS (free from the Mac App Store)
Preparing Devices with Apple Configurator 2 for macOS
(optional) Create a WiFi profile in Apple Configurator 2 by going to File > New Profile > Wifi > Configure and enter in the local network information. Click Save.
Connect the device to the macOS computer and open Apple Configurator 2.
Select the device and click Prepare from the menu.
Select Manual Configuration from the dropdown and check the boxes for Add to Device Enrollment Program and Allow Devices to pair with other computers (if desired). Activate and complete enrollment should be unchecked.
If a server is not already configured, select New Server.
For Host name or URL - This URL is not used during the process of adding a device to AxM so we can leave it the default value that is generated while creating the server.
We may see this screen- it is expected- click Next.
Select Next.
Sign into the Apple School Manager or Apple Business account.
Generate a new Supervision Identity or choose an existing one if created previously on that computer.
Select Don't show any of these steps. This will be configured in your PreStage enrollment instead.
Select the WiFi profile we created in Step 1 or alternatively manually connect the device to a network by clicking through the setup assistant just far enough to enter in the WiFi credentials but no farther.
Select Next- the device should show as preparing- let it run until it completes. Do not unplug the device and do not proceed through the setup assistant. The device will wipe and restart.
Once Apple Configurator 2 has finished, log into Apple School Manager or Apple Business.
Click Devices.
Enter in the serial number of the device we prepared, select the device, click Assign Device Management, and choose the MDM server you added to Jamf Pro.
Wait 5-10 minutes and in Jamf Pro assign the device to the desired PreStage Enrollment.
Once the device is showing as "Assigned" to the PreStage, proceed through the setup assistant and enroll the device.
