Resolving 'You are not authorized to manage products for your organization' in Jamf Account

This article provides steps for gaining access to the Solutions section in Jamf Account.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Description

The default privilege set in Jamf Account provides access to the Home, Profile, and individual Training sections. Additional privileges are needed in order to access additional sections such as:

  • Solutions: contains subscription information for Jamf products and add-ons; includes option to log in to instances, update Jamf Pro, download installers and more.

  • Organization: where contacts and users are managed, SSO integrations are configured, etc.

  • Feedback Program: where you can enroll in the Jamf beta program.

If your Jamf ID/IdP user is new and your organization does not assign you a role in Jamf Account, it is expected that you will see the message 'You are not authorized to manage products for your organization in Jamf Account.'

Verify Role/Privileges

Jamf provides 5 system roles (described in step 6 here) and organizations can make their own custom roles. Ensure your user in Jamf Account is assigned a role with the needed privileges to access the Solutions tab. To change your role in Jamf Account:

  1. Request access from a user at your organization with the Administrator role.

    • If you do not know who the administrator is, you can click the option in the message to request access via email.

  2. Reach out to your Account team at Jamf.

After a role change, you must log out and log back in for the new role to reflect.
