Jamf Now Lost Mode Stuck Enabling

Description

When enabling Lost Mode for an iOS device managed by Jamf Now, the device record is stuck showing "Enabling" and device location information is not presented.

This photo shows an example of the spinning Enabling that you may be seeing stuck on your device.


​Jamf Now sends out the command to Enable Lost Mode; however, the command may not complete on the device, for example if the device does not have a network connection or is powered off.


Confirming Device Communication

Device communication can be verified by checking at the "Last Inventoried" box of the device record. If a device has not checked in recently, there is a strong likelihood it will not receive the command to Enable Lost Mode.


Attempting Lost Mode Again

If the device has inventoried recently, click the Stop button and then repeat the steps on Enabling Lost Mode to resend the Lost Mode command again.
