Issue Description
Clear the notification "Device Count Exceeded Message."
Troubleshooting Steps
Option 1: Validate the activation Code
Activation Code Validation - Utilize the linked Salesforce tool to validate the Activation Code for the customer which tells us their purchased license count.
Ensure the activation code in Jamf Pro is current. The most up to date activation code will show in account.jamf.com > Products > Jamf Pro - View > Instances.
If the activation code is correct and they need all the devices that are enrolled into Jamf Pro, then they can contact their account owner for more information or wait for their renewal to figure out all the licenses.
Option 2: There are devices that are being managed that are no longer needed but records are still in Jamf Pro. Admins can select the option to unmanage them or use the following workflow to find devices they are likely not still actively managing (retired or inventory devices).
Make a smart group that uses the criteria "Last Check In" for computers and "Last Inventory Update" for iOS devices. Those will show all computer or mobile devices that have not checkin or inventoried in over 30 days, which gives a good idea that they are not in use. Ensure that the devices that fall under these Smart Groups actually need to be deleted and/or are not just off or not checking in for other reasons.
Click "View" on the smart group and look at the devices to make sure they can be all deleted.
After deciding if they can all be deleted, click "Action" on the bottom right of the page.
Select "Delete Computers" and hit next.
