Description
This article provides steps to create a smart group in Jamf Pro to find devices that were enrolled before or after a certain date.
One application of these groups would be to identify the number of devices enrolled on an MDM Push Notification certificate in situations where two different certificates have been used to enroll devices in Jamf Pro and we need to decide which certificate to keep (and which devices from the previous certificate need to be re-enrolled).
Creating a Smart Group in Jamf Pro
To determine the number of devices enrolled in Jamf Pro on the current MDM Push Notification Certificate:
In Jamf Pro go to Devices/Computers and click Smart Device Groups/Smart Computer Groups.
Click New and give the group a name.
Click Criteria and click Add.
Click Show Advanced Criteria and click Choose for Last Enrollment.
Switch the Operator to after (yyyy-mm-dd).
Under Value enter in the day before the current certificate was uploaded to Jamf Pro using yyyy-mm-dd formatting (for example 2024-01-05 would be January 5 2024).
Click Save.
Click View to see the number of devices in the group.
To determine the number of device enrolled in Jamf Pro on the previous MDM Push Notification certificate:
