Description

Apps that are not identified as being deployed from the App Store or as an identified developer by Apple will not be allowed to install by default on managed computers. This is a workflow to allow those types of applications to install if needed.

Installing Apps Not Identified by the App Store

  1. In Jamf Pro navigate to Computers > Configuration Profiles > New.

    1. Feel free to use an profile with the Security & Privacy payload if desired.

  2. Fill out the Name, ex. Gatekeeper Settings.

    1. (Optional) Change the Site, Category and Distribution Method if applicable.

  3. Select the Security & Privacy payload followed by General.

  4. Under the Gatekeeper section, select the desired option.

  5. Click Scope and add desired computers.

    1. It is recommended to apply this profile to a test computer to confirm that you are now able to install software that you were previously unable to.

    2. Once the profile is working as intended you can expand the scope to production computers.

  6. Select Save.
