Description

On macOS Sequoia and iOS 18, there is now capability to mirror your iPhone to computers and a key to manage this feature with MDM: allowiPhoneMirroring.

This article provides steps to use this key to manage iPhone mirroring.

Managing Your Devices iPhone Mirroring

A. macOS

If restricted, this setting prevents the Mac from mirroring any iPhone. Note this restriction is enabled by default on any existing/new profiles, allowing mirroring.

To use this setting in Jamf Pro:

  1. In Jamf Pro go to Computers > Configuration Profiles and click New (or open and click Edit on an existing profile with Restrictions configured).

  2. Click on the Restrictions payload (and click Configure if using a new profile).

  3. Select the Applications tab and ensure the box for Allow use of iPhone Mirroring is checked to allow devices to mirror or unchecked to restrict this feature.

  4. Click Scope and desired devices.

  5. Click Save. If editing an existing profile, be sure to redistribute the profile when prompted.

B. iOS

When used on iOS, this prevents the iPhone from mirroring to any Mac.

To use this setting in Jamf Pro:

  1. In Jamf Pro go to Devices > Configuration Profiles and click New (or open and click Edit on an existing profile with Restrictions configured).

  2. Click on the Restrictions payload and click Apps.

  3. Click the button to Include for the iPhone Mirroring restriction and then choose Allow or Restrict as desired.

  4. Click Scope and desired devices.

  5. Click Save. If editing an existing profile, be sure to redistribute the profile when prompted.
