Issue Description
When trying to sign into the Apple Account pane with a Managed Apple Account, the user is seeing the error below:
This error appears when the Apple Account created in Apple Business Manager, Apple School Manager or Apple Business Essentials has a subscription plan attached to the account (for example, extra iCloud storage). Apple OSs require an enrollment profile to be installed in order to sign into a Managed Apple Account with a subscription plan; however, because the Jamf Pro MDM profile is already installed the OS will block installing a second enrollment profile.
Troubleshooting Steps
Disabling the subscription plan will allow the Managed Apple Account login the expected way.
Sign into Apple Business Manager, Apple School Manager, or Apple Business Essentials.
Select Subscriptions.
Remove the Managed Apple Account from the subscription plan (e.g. extra iCloud storage).
For more information see Unassign a plan in Apple Business Essentials.
Check to make sure the Subscription is not applied to a User Group.
If we are, the user will need to be removed from the User Group.
Check the Managed Apple Account to verify the Plan is removed and only 5gb of iCloud Storage is present. This could take up to 5 minutes.
Once the plan is removed from the user in Apple Business Manager, Apple School Manager, or Apple Business Essentials, sign the Managed Apple Account in on the device.
Once the Managed Apple Account is signed in on the device, you can return to Apple Business Manager or Apple Business Essentials and re-apply the subscription to the user; however, this same issue would repeat if the Managed Apple Account is signed in again on a managed device.
