Training Pass FAQ

Description

Jamf offers a Training Pass, which is a prepaid, flexible way to access to certain instructor-led Jamf courses over a one year period. It provides access to a selection of certification courses, retest, or recertification exams where applicable.

Training Pass Options

There are Organizational and Individual Training Pass options.

Organizational

Individual

Overview

  • Limited to five (5) employees within your organization.

  • Once an individual has enrolled and taken a course, that individual is then assigned to the pass and cannot be unassigned and cannot be substituted with another individual.

  • The Organizational Training Pass may be used by one individual at a time. This means that one seat can be reserved in any one available course during a week’s time.

  • The Individual Training Pass is registered to one individual.

  • This pass is NON-transferable and CANNOT be shared within an organization.

  • Valid for one year from the purchase date, and you must enroll and complete the course within the one-year purchase window.

Purchasing Training Passes

Training Passes can be purchased either by:

  • Using a credit card in Jamf Account.

  • Working with your Account team to purchase if you need to pay with a purchase order (PO).


Assigning Training Passes to Users

There are two options: manual assignment and automatic.

Manual assignment

A user with the Jamf Account privilege to manage organization training can assign the individuals in Jamf Account:

  1. Log in to Jamf Account.

  2. Go to Training > Team training. Your Organization Training Pass will show on the Training Pass tab.

  3. Click Add a Team Member on the right side.

  4. Search through the users that are part of your organization.

Note - The user being assigned to the Training Pass must have a valid Jamf ID associated with your organization.

Automatic assignment

Alternatively there is an option to enable Automatic Training Pass assignments. When this setting enabled, the Training Pass will show for your entire organization and the first five users that register for a course with the pass will be assigned to it automatically.

Can Training Passes be reassigned to a different user?

If the pass has been used for a user, it cannot be transferred/the user cannot be removed. This includes if the user is no longer with your organization or signed up but no-showed/late cancelled for a course they were registered for.

To transfer an unused Training Pass, email training@jamf.com.


Enrolling in Jamf Training Courses with a Training Pass

Users can enroll in courses with the Training Pass in Jamf Account.

  1. Log in to Jamf Account.

  2. Go to Training > Your Training and select the Training Pass tab.

  3. Click Use for Course for the desired Training Pass.

  4. Click Register for the course you want to use the pass.

  5. Select Enroll for the available course date you desire.

  6. Select I am registering myself and click Continue.

  7. Select Use Training Pass ($0.00) and click Continue.

  8. Click I Acknowledge on the Course Requirements pop up to complete the registration.

  9. You will receive an email confirmation with your registration details.

Note - It is not possible to enroll on behalf of someone; they must log in to Jamf Account and do it directly.


Frequently Asked Questions

I purchased a Training Pass but it is not showing in Jamf Account.

Please email training@jamf.com.


I cannot assign users to the Organizational Training Pass in Jamf Account.

Confirm the user account you are signed in with in Jamf Account has the required privilege. You need to either be an Administrator in Jamf Account for your organization or if you have a custom role it must have Edit permissions for Training > Team Training.
