Description
When using Apple Classroom with classes created in Jamf School directly or synced to Jamf School from Apple School Manager, there are specific requirements to meet for student devices to be online and available for classes. This article provides steps for troubleshooting scenarios were students show as offline.
Troubleshooting Steps
Check for the EDU profile on the device.
In Jamf School, go to Devices > Inventory and open the device record.
Click on the Activity Log and search for Education.
Ensure the Bluetooth is on for both the student and teacher iPads.
Ensure both the teacher and student have the device assigned to them in Jamf School.
Ensure both the student and teacher iPads are connected to the same network.
Consider connecting both devices to a cellular hotspot and test.
Send the Refresh command to the student device via Jamf School.
Close and reopen the Classroom app
Re-install the EDU profile following one of the options below:
Unassign and reassign our user to the class or device.
Make any change to the assigned class (ex. Changing Class name).
