Device Asking for Username and Password During Enrollment with Jamf School

Description

During the enrollment process, a device may prompt for a username and password. This prompt is typically enabled by the Require authentication for enrollment setting in the enrollment profile.

To view what credentials are being used, go to Jamf School > Organization > Settings > Authentication > Authentication Method.

Disabling Requiring Authentication

To remove the authentication step during the enrollment process:

  1. In Jamf School go to Profiles > Automated Device Enrollment.

  2. Select the enrollment profile assigned to the device.

  3. Under the Onboarding section, uncheck Require authentication for enrollment.
