Configure Specific App to Enable Camera Access on iOS/macOS

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Issue Description

Seeing '"APP_NAME" would like to access the camera' pop up message.

This photo is an example of the pop up that you may be getting on your device.

Starting with iOS and macOS 10.14, Apple requires users to explicitly grant permission for each app to access the camera and microphone

Troubleshooting Steps

Due to Apple's privacy controls, we cannot provide access to the camera via MDM. This limitation applies to all MDM solutions.

To manually enable camera access, follow these steps:

  1. On the iOS/macOS device, navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.

  2. Enable the toggle for the app that needs camera access.

Note: For iOS devices in Single App Mode, it must be removed to make this change and then enabled again.
