Issue Description
When apps are deployed from Jamf Now, end users see "Sign in to iTunes to allow 'xxxx.jamfcloud.com' to manage and install apps."
This prompt appears when deploying App Store apps to iOS devices without sufficient app licenses.
Troubleshooting Steps
In Jamf Now under Apps, click ... and then select Sync Volume Purchased Apps to sync license purchases to ensure all licenses are showing in Jamf Now. You may need to refresh the Jamf Now Apps page to reflect the newly synced licenses.
Confirm the app has available app licenses under the Apps tab in Jamf Now. Jamf Now will display available app license counts (X licenses remaining) to the right of each app.
If an app does not have any available app licenses, get more licenses in Apple Business Manager and sync again in Jamf Now.
Once available app licenses appear under the Apps tab in Jamf Now, reinstall the app to force Jamf Now to retry app license assignment. This can be done a few different ways depending on the situation:
Reinstall the app on a per device basis in situations where only one device needs to be corrected.
Open the device record for the device in question under the Devices tab in Jamf Now.
Navigate to the iPad and iPhone apps tab.
Click on the more (...) button next to the app in question.
Click Reinstall on device.
Reinstall the app across all devices in a single Blueprint:
Navigate to Blueprints > Apps in Jamf Now.
Click on the more (...) button next to the app in question.
Click Update.
Click Cancel for any lingering Apple Account login prompts on devices.
Devices will begin app installation on next device Check In without prompting for an Apple Account.
If devices continue to prompt for iTunes login, try renewing the Volume Purchasing certificate in Jamf Now and retry steps 2-4.
Pro tip: To prevent this issue in the future, check that each app has available licenses under the Apps tab in Jamf Now before deploying it to devices. This ensures the app installs successfully on the first attempt, avoiding the need for subsequent corrections.
