LAPS Password Does Copy Properly in Chrome Browser

Issue Description

If using Chrome as a web browser, LAPS passwords may have issues copying to clipboard.

Troubleshooting Steps

To ensure that we are copying the LAPS password value properly be sure to follow these steps:

  1. In Jamf Pro navigate to Computers > Search Inventory > Search > select a computer > Inventory tab > 'Local User Accounts' section.

  2. Click on the 'View' button next to either the MDM LAPS or JMF LAPS accounts, be sure to use the small 'copy' button.

    • If triple-clicking the password, the password section appears to highlight just the password, however this also copies and additional paragraph break along with the password string. This action causes the copied password to be incorrect.
