Add an Apple TV into Apple School/Business Manager and enroll in Jamf Pro

Apple TVs can only be enrolled into Jamf Pro using Automated Device Enrollment. If your Apple TVs were not added to Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager by the vendor at the time of purchase, you can use Apple Configurator 2 to add them so they are eligible for Automated Device Enrollment in Jamf.

Enrolling Apple TVs with USB-C Ports

  1. Connect the USB-C cable to a macOS computer using a USB cable.

  2. Open Apple Configurator 2 on the computer.

  3. When the device appears in Apple Configurator 2, click Prepare and follow the onscreen instructions.

  4. Once the device is in Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager, assign it to your Jamf MDM Server.

  5. Ensure the device is assigned to a Jamf Pro PreStage Enrollment.

  6. Go through the setup assistant to enroll the device.

Enrolling Apple TVs without USB-C Ports

  1. Follow the steps in Apple's documentation to prepare the Apple Tv.

  2. Once the device is in Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager, assign it to your Jamf MDM Server.

  3. Ensure the device is assigned to a Jamf Pro PreStage Enrollment.

  4. Go through the setup assistant to enroll the device.
