What is device management state-based access control in Jamf Security Cloud portal?

Updated this week

Description

Device management state-based access control prevents unmanaged devices from accessing an application. The device management state is determined by UEM Connect synchronization.

If UEM sync is not configured or fails, device management state may be inaccurate.

Device Check-in Threshold

Previously, devices actively enrolled in the connected UEM were considered managed as long as they have checked in with the UEM in the last 72 hours.

A new UEM device check-in threshold setting has been added, allowing you to configure how long a device can go without a UEM check-in before it is marked as unmanaged, choosing from 1d, 3d, 5d, 7d, 14d, with 3d as the default.

Notifying Users

When selected, you can enable a push notification to inform users of unmanaged devices why their access was denied.
