Classes Not Appearing in Jamf Teacher

Issue Description

Classes configured in Jamf School are not appearing in the Jamf Teacher app. This issue may occur due to:

  1. Duplicate User Records:

    • The device is assigned to one record while the User Group is assigned to another.

  2. Improper User Group Assignment:

    • The teacher’s user record is not properly scoped to the User Group.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Verify Device and User Group Assignment

    Ensure both the Teacher’s device and the User Group are associated with the same user record.

    1. Navigate to Jamf School > Users > Users.

    2. Select the affected teacher.

    3. Check the Managed Groups section to confirm classes are listed.

  2. Resolve Duplicate User Records (if applicable)
    If the teacher’s device and User Group are assigned to different user records, update the assignments so they are associated with the same record. Delete or consolidate duplicate user records as necessary.

  3. Confirm Proper Group Scoping

    1. Ensure the teacher user is properly scoped to the User Group.

    2. Verify that the User Group is correctly configured and includes the appropriate classes.

  4. Verify User Record Settings

    1. Confirm that the teacher’s device is listed under the correct user record.

    2. Ensure the User Group contains the correct user assignments.
