Unable to share from App Store to Jamf Teacher when requesting Apps (Jamf School)

Updated over 2 months ago

Description

Requesting apps via Jamf Teacher requires sharing the app from the App Store. If Jamf Teacher is not showing as an option to be shared to in the App Store it could be due to a Restriction payload setting in a Jamf School device profile.

Restrictions Required For Devices to Share to Jamf Teacher

The options below must be checked/enabled in Restrictions profiles installed on the devices to share to Jamf Teacher from the App Store:

  • "Allow documents from managed apps in unmanaged apps"

  • "Allow documents from unmanaged apps in managed apps"

  1. Open the existing profile with Restrictions configured in Jamf School.

  2. Enable the two options if they were disabled.

  3. Save the profile changes.

  4. Check the device record to confirm it re-installed on the device.

  5. Close the App Store, re-open it and try sharing an app from the App Store.
