Updated over 2 weeks ago

Description

Devices enroll via User Initiated Enrollment at the enrollment portal. You can give a user the enrollment URL to access the portal.

Prerequisites:

  • User-initiated enrollment enabled in Jamf Pro under Settings > Global > User-initiated enrollment > iOS

  • A valid MDM Push Notification certificate

  • If SSO or LDAP/Cloud Identity Providers are not enabled, you will need a Jamf Pro user account for authentication

Enrolling Your Devices Using User-Initiated Enrollment

Here are the steps the end user would follow:

  1. Navigate to the enrollment URL in Safari

  2. Authentication is required at the first screen of the enrollment portal. These credentials can be from SSO if enabled, LDAP or Cloud Identity Provider if enabled, or a Jamf Pro user account.

  3. If you have Sites configured, you can select a site for the device at this time or leave None. If you use a Jamf Pro user account to authenticate and have LDAP or a Cloud Identity Provider enabled in Jamf Pro you can assign to a user on this screen. If not, leave this field blank and click Enroll.

  4. Follow the prompts to download the MDM profile. When prompted, click Allow to download the MDM profile.

  5. Go to the Settings app and either click Profile Downloaded or navigate to General > VPN & Device Management and select the MDM Profile.

  6. Follow the prompts to install the MDM profile on the device.
