Enrolling Computers using User-Initiated Enrollment

Description

User-initiated enrollment allows users to manually enroll a device with Jamf Pro through an enrollment URL that opens the enrollment portal in a web browser. This method is designed for institutional devices that are not eligible for Automated Device Enrollment.

Note:

  • Computers with macOS 11 or later are automatically supervised after Device Enrollment. C

  • Computers enrolled via user-initiated enrollment will have a removable MDM profile.

Pre-Requisites:

Enroll Computers Through User-initiated Enrollment

  1. Access the Enrollment URL on the computer by navigating manually or sending an invitation.

  2. Authenticate using a Jamf Pro user with enrollment privileges, or if setup, use SSO or LDAP credentials.

  3. Follow the prompts to install the MDM profile on the computer.

  4. Once installed the computer should now have a computer record in Jamf Pro that can be found under Computers > Search inventory.
