Creating Jamf Connect Configuration Profiles using Jamf Pro

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Description

If you have a Jamf Pro subscription, you can use Jamf Pro to either:

  • deploy plists or .mobileconfigs for login and menu bar created with the Jamf Connect Configuration app

  • create and deploy Jamf Connect login and menu bar settings using the Applications & Customs Settings > Jamf Applications payload

Note - In this article, Jamf Connect menu bar refers to settings configured with the com.jamf.connect preference domain. It applies to Jamf Connect menu bar versions 2.x as well as Self Service+ menu bar and/or Self Service+ Account management dashboard.

Creating Your Own Configuration Profile

For the steps to create Jamf Connect configuration profiles with the Jamf Applications payload, please see Creating Jamf Connect Configuration Profiles using Jamf Pro in the Jamf Connect Documentation.

We recommend first just building out settings with the minimum keys required and then once Jamf Connect is working as expected you can add in more keys if needed.

Note: When using this method, be sure to use the Add/Remove properties button to remove any keys you are not configuring. Keys that are left empty and not removed will add empty strings to the settings, which can cause authentication errors during deployment.
