Description
When attempting to access or modify certain settings, you may see the following prompt: "macOS wants to make changes. Enter an admin's name and password to allow this."
This is caused by media restrictions configured in your Jamf School profile. Specifically, the profile is set to require authentication for accessing external disks and disk images.
Updating Media Restrictions
To adjust the media restriction settings in Jamf School:
In Jamf School go to Profiles > Overview and select the macOS profile.
Navigate to Restrictions > Media.
Ensure the following options are configured:
Check Allow next to External Disks.
Check Require Authentication for External Disks.
Check Allow next to Disk Images.
Check Require Authentication for Disk Images.
These settings control access and permissions for media devices and should prevent unnecessary prompts.
