This article provides steps to locate the passcode/PIN used for the "Lock Device" command sent to a device in Jamf School.
Locating the Lock Device Passcode/PIN
Check Device Activity Logs
In Jamf School, go to Devices > Inventory.
Select the specific device you want to check.
Navigate to the Activity Logs section.
Look for the "Lock Device" command in the log, where the passcode/PIN should be visible.
Note: The lock pin code will only display within the Activity log of the device for 30 days. Afterwards the log is cleared.
If you believe it will be more than 30 days before you can unlock the device, enter the lock code into the Notes field of the device details for future reference.
Unable to locate the lock code?
Attempt any codes you may believe you have used as the lock code PIN to try and unlock the computer.
