"Failed" Error When Trying to "Resync Licenses" in Apps

Description

When attempting to "Resync licenses" in Jamf School, a "Failed" message can appear if in-house macOS packages are included in the selection when performing the resync action.

Syncing Volume Purchasing Licenses Only

  1. Go to Apps > Inventory in Jamf School.

  2. Filter by Source to display only Volume Purchasing apps (exclude in-house apps).

  3. Select only the Volume Purchasing apps that need to be resynced.

    • Avoid selecting in-house macOS packages, as these are not tied to Volume Purchasing and will cause the resync licenses action to fail.

  4. Click "Resync licenses" on the correctly filtered list of apps.
