Description
Jamf School has 3 options for deploying apps to managed computers:
Using volume purchased licenses
App Installers
Uploading a package as an in-house macOS app.
This article provides more information on the third option.
Manually Deploying In-House Apps
If you have a third party app that is not available in App Installers or in Apple School manager you can upload a package directly to Jamf School.
Package the Application Using Composer
Only packages can be upload to Jamf School, not DMGs. If you have a DMG instead of a package you can use Composer to build a package.
Download and install Composer (if not already installed) from Jamf Account under Solutions > Add Ons.
Download the DMG file from the developer’s website.
Open Composer and drag the DMG file into the left sidebar in Composer.
Select the package and click "Convert to Source".
Select the new source and click "Build as PKG".
Upload the PKG to Jamf School
In Jamf School go to Apps > Inventory.
Click + Add App and choose Upload in-house macOS app.
Upload the PKG file.
To distribute to devices, click the + button to add device groups to the recieve the in house app.
Click Save in the bottom-right corner.
