Use command line to remove Jamf Now enrollment profile installed by Open Enrollment

Updated over a month ago

Description

This article provides a command that can be used in Terminal on a managed Mac to remove the Jamf Now enrollment profile installed by Open Enrollment.

This can be helpful if there are numerous profiles installed in System Preferences/System Settings and it's challenging to pinpoint the enrollment profile to manually remove it.

Removing an Enrollment Profile from Terminal

  1. On the affected Mac, open Terminal.

  2. Enter the following command: sudo profiles remove -identifier com.bushel.encrypted-profile-service

  3. Enter in the password for the user account that is logged in.

NOTE: The enrollment profile installed by Auto-Enrollment can only be removed by sending the Unenroll command from Jamf Now or by restoring a time machine backup with System Settings checkbox deselected.
