Unable to Export Patch Management Results to a .csv file

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Issue Description

When attempting to export a report to a CSV there are multiple options. Historically exporting data to a CSV with Patch Management hasn't been optimal. In cases like this alternate options should be explored.

This photo shows where you would export your data to a CSV.

Troubleshooting Steps

In a situation like the above where OS data needs to be exported, creation of an Advanced Search or Smart Group can be utilized. Keep in mind this is just one option and the following steps can quickly be modified to address other concepts.

  1. In Jamf Pro navigate to Computers > Search > New.

  2. (Optional) Assign the Advanced Search to a Site and check Save this search option if needed. If saving the Advanced Search is required, a Display Name will need to be assigned.

  3. Under the Criteria tab select the Show Advanced Criteria option.

  4. Choose Operating System Version.

  5. Complete the Operator and Values fields of the Advanced Search with the combination that gives the targeted results.

  6. (Optional) Select the Save option.

This photo shows the menu where you will enter your criteria and select Save.

  7. Choose the Reports tab and select the File Format (CSV) and Inventory Item(s).

  8. Select Download.

  9. (Optional) Click Save.
