Jamf Pro APNs renewal shows "403 access denied"

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Issue Description

While renewing Apple Push Notification service (APNs), Jamf Pro user receives "403 access denied" error.

If a Jamf Pro admin is logged into a site in Jamf Pro rather than "Full Jamf Pro" they will be unable to renew APNS. This is because site admins do not have permission to update items that affect the "Full Jamf Pro" and will receive a "403 access denied" message.

Troubleshooting Steps

Log in to Jamf Pro and check if Full Jamf Pro is showing in the upper right.

  • If it is, try to navigate to Settings > Global > Push Certificates again.

  • If it is not:

    1. Click the site name to see if you have the option to switch to Full Jamf Pro.

    2. If this Jamf Pro admin user is only a site user, log in to Jamf Pro with a different account in order to renew the certificate.
