'Applying Settings on Device. Waiting for the device to check in' message on device dashboard in Jamf Now

Description

If an iOS or iPadOS device has a passcode configured, Single App Mode settings from the blueprint will not be able to install until the mobile device is unlocked. This will cause the 'Applying Settings on device. Waiting for the device to check in.' message to display on the device dashboard.

Installing the Single App Mode Blueprint Settings

To get the device into Single App Mode, either:

  • Manually unlock the device by entering in the passcode.

  • Send the Unlock Device command from Jamf Now following the steps below:

    1. Open the device record in Jamf Now.

    2. Click ... in the upper-right corner.

    3. Click Unlock Device.

    4. Click Unlock.
