How to Create a Schedule in Jamf Safe Internet

The Schedules feature in Jamf Safe Internet allows IT admins to manage content accessibility on student devices based on timeframes (e.g., school hours, weekends, holidays). A schedule must be created before deploying any policy with time-based filtering. Schedules define when a category is blocked, not allowed, but custom rules allow both block and allow schedules.

Creating and Customizing Your Schedule

Follow the steps below to create a Schedule:

  1. Log in to the Jamf Safe Internet Console.

  2. Navigate to Policies > Web protection policy > Content Rules.

  3. Click “Policy Schedules” to view existing schedules.

  4. Click “+ Create new” to add a schedule.

  5. Name the Schedule: Clearly define its purpose.

    Note: It may be helpful to refer to Understanding Start/End vs. Recurrencefor steps 6-8.

  6. Set Start Time: Choose a date and time, then click OK.

  7. (Optional) Set End Time: Click “+ Add end date and time” if needed.

  8. Enable Recurrence (Optional): Check “Add recurrence” to apply schedules on specific days of the week.

  9. Save the Schedule: View it in the main schedule window.
